Consultative Status With The Economic And Social Council Of The United Nations (ECOSOC)
AAII has been granted the highest level of Consultative Status an NGO can have with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations (ECOSOC).
General Consultative Status with ECOSOC empowers authorized AAII representatives to participate in the work of the Council and its subsidiary bodies and conferences and to attend United Nations meetings in New York, Vienna, Geneva and Addis Ababa.
A significant aspect of this status is cooperation with United Nations bodies and Specialized Agencies, to include the submission of White Papers and verbal and written statements to the UN General Assembly.
AAII submits Quradrennial Reports to the Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) that reflects AAII’s collaboration with the United Nations, its work toward the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (MDG), its leadership role on behalf of women, children, the poor and its commitment to inter-religious understanding and harmony as a significant aspect of promoting peace.
